Bit odd to announce things in this way, even if not doing another poll isn't really so strange. Bit of a gamble though: this time next week they'll either look genuinely fycking brilliant or will be utterly discredited.

By that logic, pollsters should start pulling out of Ohio.

Why would they argue with their own polls! Of course that fellow is done. Florida prefers Mr. Romney.

Even the poll conducted on this far left forum projected FL overwhelmingly for Romney.  Why is this so hard to understand???

Because their own poll = huge outlier: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/fl/florida_romney_vs_obama-1883.html

If we can call FL for Romney today, we have twice as strong a case to stop polling and call OH for Obama:

Wasn't the other pollster a "uni poll"?

And Romney can have the worst state if he wants. I won't lose sleep over loving Zombiegentria.

If Florida was already "in the bag" for Romney - why is Romney spending all day today in Florida with events in three cities?? Would he be sacrificing all that time in Florida five days before the election if it was "already won", when it means less time in Ohio or Iowa or Colorado??

Hopefully the latter just to finally show that Mason-Dixon isn't what its supporters make it out to be.

Not saying it's a bad poll normally, but it's vastly overrated.

Huh. Maybe they'll head to Ohio now to show Romney up 9 or so.

Don't be ridiculous. Republicans won't lose control of Florida's state senate.

Romney has to win HUGE in FL for M-D not to look foolish. Does anybody seriously think that FL is so lopsided that it's not worth polling? Especially with its enormous 29 EVs.

This is a silly move even if they are confident in a Mittens victory. If Obama ends up winning FL, which I don't think he does, they will lose all credibility.

Yes, but the person making the decision was experienced.

I just don't understand why they would do this. It's like the poor kid at school who doesn't have enough money to go on the class field trip saying that he's not going "because field trips are lame and stupid."

Obviously Mason Dixon doesn't have enough money to poll Florida. They don't have to admit it, but they also shouldn't further damage themselves with a lame excuse. Don't say anything!

Of course it isn't. Their poll is confirmed by several others on this list. Any strong pollster will trust their poll over someone else's.
