What percentage of Missouri will be like this? It's such a bizarre thought, but there is at least one person on the forum I can see being that way so...

There will be far far more Romney/McCaskil voters, which goes without saying really.

Probably less than half a percent. You might see Akin out run Romney in St. Charles but not sure about post controversy whether that will still hold up.

Evangelicals who distrust Mormonism but haven't had a problem with blacks ever since that one nice African American couple joined the Sunday School class?

Low information swing voters who don't mind Obama but thinks Congress is really disfunctional so they're voting against the Senate incumbent on principle?

Afghanistan veterans who love Obama for getting Bin Laden and pulling troops out, but who otherwise vote straight ticket Republican?

That like 1-3% of voters who apparently just always vote for whoever's first in alphabetical order?

Yes, but they won't be voting for Todd Akin.

Uh....

But yeah, they aren't going to be voting for Akin.

Bacon King's suggestions kind of make sense but doesn't describe who I'm thinking of.

People can be weird about how they vote sometimes. Probably you wouldn't even find much of a pattern.

One realistic though not too common possibility is someone who prefers Obama to Romney but still isn't fond of Obama and wants a Republican Senate in opposition, and votes purely on party control and ignores all factors about individual candidates.

Actually, no, that's not true. I suspect that almost all would be male.

I was pretty shocked to see in a PPP poll's subsamples that the gender gap in this is only about 6 points. Still in regards to Obama/Akin voters I bet you're right here.
