The President leads 51-47, down from the 52-44 lead he enjoyed during his Post-Convention:47% highs during September, but still good.

Hahahah "slim lead" = above 50% and leading by four now? The media really is shameless about this stuff.

This result is a lot better than I expected though. Unambiguously very good numbers for President Obama.

That's not slim by any definition.

That's not slim by any definition.

No, nor is there any realistic possibility of a Romney win without this state.

The poll has a large sample size and includes cell phones. Very good.

A 4 point lead with less then 2 weeks to go isn't a slim lead. BTW wasn't J.J the one saying VA was likely gone?

I get nervous with any poll that Krazen does not post. Only Krazen should be allowed to post polls. Thanks.

Especially because Krazen posts a representative sample of polls...hmm? Wink

This poll also backs up the PPP poll showing Obama up 51-46, almost identical numbers. Looks like Virginia is back in the Obama column.

Will anyone ask those jackasses from Suffolk if they are going to poll Virginia again or have they crawled under a rock?

Like CO, VA is another state where some people seem to be 'banking' on a Romney win when it is at best a coin flip for Romney. The state has had unemployment under 6% for all of 2012 and of course tons of government jobs. So Romney's talk of doom and gloom and government not creating jobs doesn't exactly resonate.

At least the poll shows Mittmentum.
Their previous poll was 52-44 Obama.

Yes Yes Yes!

One of the most  more favorable demographic states  in the nation for Obama , white liberals in Nova, over 20% AA, a lot of immigrants.

Spin it all you want, but being at 47 when your opponent is over 50 with less than two weeks less is a pretty horrendous place to be.

Their track record is okay for a newspaper poll.  It's better than most Uni polls, but not that good.

Their poll four years ago said Obama +8. He won by 6.5%. Seems good to me.

As I stated in the OP, that poll was taken from September 12-16, during Obama's Post-Convention/47% sugar highs. It was an artificial bounce that had begun to dissipate on September 30th, almost a week before the 1st Presidential Debate.

Could Obama lose the PV and win 303 electoral votes?

Yeah, they are decent.

PPP is more worrisome for Romney supporters, they were right on the mark about Virginia.

The poll might have a slight D leaning house effect but a 51-49 Obama win is very plausible. Again, this state is not Virginia circa 1980,1990,2000
