So, one candidate has spent his years traveling around the world, advocating for progress and trying to make a difference, while the other spent them... farming.

And in bizarro world, this pursuit of education and science is somehow a liability when put next to someone who farms a lot.

I know who I'd vote for.

Now, the GOP attacking someone for being well educated and having lived in foreign countries is nothing new, but what's the deal with the corn dogs?

Well, thank God that Republicans aren't anti-intellectual and anti-education.
At least that's what Inks told me.

This is South Dakota we're talking about. Wink It makes her relatable, as that's what a lot of the state makes their money off of.

I'd never heard of Varilek before but now he's one of my potential favorite Congressmen.  Thanks for educating me, SDGOP!

Why oh why did South Dakota kick out Stephanie Herseth-inksing-Sandlin and replace her with this crapsack?

That Varilek guy hits me as some Fabian Socialist UN lackey. I certainly hope he is not sent to congress as that is already the largest single group of people in the U.S. Congress. I thought we wanted diversity in the national legislature?

Hilarious. My favorite part was "radical ideas" vs "South Dakota Common Sense"...it's not even a balanced comparison.

Let's run a grassroots campaign to have Anderson redub this.

I have not been paying any attention to this race, but I doubt this ad will backfire. It will probably be more effective than those mocking it suspect. The comments about 'corn-dog parties' are likely hoping to lead potential voters to focus on the beer more than the corn-dogs. As someone who used to live in Montana and now lives in Denver, I think there's a definite distrust of 'outsiders' in the rural West.  I think the point of the ad is fairly clear: claiming Kristi Noem is a 'real South Dakotan',  while portraying Matt Varilek as an 'outsider' and not a 'real South Dakotan'.
