I was cruising around the net when I found this....

Here's a close up of the NYC area

These states come from this site

http://www.fakeisthenewreal.org/reform/reform.html

The aim of the map is to make each state of equal population. Hence each states woudl have the same weight in the EC. Of course this wouldn't happen but It's interesting to think about how each state would vote.

Yep I'll pay that. Plus this state would have relatively high Green vote.

Maybe I should take a look at the close-up, but isn't this dominated by the Pittsburgh area? (Plus Rep-leaning N WV) Usually lean Dem, tossup this time around.

Basically the Dems would be utterly unable to crack 50% and the Reps utterly unable to crack 55%. Black Belt...

LEan Rep. If it were just the actual cornlands, this would be hard Rep, but it's not.

That's a strange one...Nevada, Utah, Hispanic North NM, and parts of Colorado that I can't quite make out...Should be lean GOP on average though, thanks to Utah.

Nice Weather is probably lean GOP after all, but Joaquin has to be Dem, it includes the outer bay area, Napa valley, Sacramento, Monterey, all Dem areas.

Let's break into a few catagories

Democrats get screwed because extreme blowout Dem in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Bay, and so on doesn't help them in the other places.

I seem to have lost a state, oh well.

Reasonably solid Dem (13):
North New England
Boston
South New England
Long Island
New York
Jersey
Philadelphia
Baltimore-Washington
Detroit
Everglades
Los Angeles
Joaquin
Bay

Lean Dem (4):
North Coast
Land O' Lakes
Wilmaette
Washlaska

Tossup/Unknown (5):
Erie
Cornlands
Atlanta
Delta
Nice Weather

Lean GOP (10):
Susquehanna
Chesapeake
Michiana
Show Me
Ar/Kansas
Pecos
Loving Lands
Rio Grande
Orange
Mohave

Reasonably solid GOP (17):
Alleghany
Sohio
Virgintucky
Wabash
Green Bay
Plains
Pamlico
Great Smoky
Savannah
Okefennokee
Ocalo
Tombigbee
Sabine
Dallas
Houston
Llano Estacado
Rocky Mountain High

Joaquin has a lot of rural counties where the GOP piles up huge pluralities, plus some relatively populous counties that go GOP as well; once the Bay Area is taken out, it leans GOP.

I agree, for the most part, except Susqenhana would be rock solid GOP.  Just look at the county map for the area.  That's where Bush got a ton of 70% counties.

Allaghany would be only slight lean GOP.

Just as Delta is too far north, as it best touches the Yazoo Delta.

The Bay area has about 7.5 million people. Sacramento has about 1 million. Those obviously have to form half of Joaquin, and then there's still Napa valley, Santa Cruz, Monterey.

As for Central Valley, it's not hardcore Republican, anyways.

The Bay area, including the surrounding counties are in the Bay State.  There is on fairly populous county out ther, but it went Republican in the last two elections.  All the really heavily Democratic areas is in the Bay state.
