Wikipedia is lib'rul. I think you should have a look at Conservapedia's article before claiming such liberal lies.

Hmm, the more 80s rock groups coming out to support Romney, the better.  This definitely feels like 1980 all over again when Reagan was running.

What rock groups came out for Reagan in 80? Or 84?

I actually remember those elections. Popular musicians as a rule didn't endorse candidates then (as opposed to aging hippie folkies). Not even the usual suspects like Bono, Springstein and Mellencamp. And back then Republican rock stars--even freakin' Ted Nugent!--were almost unknown.

For that matter, what other 80's rock stars are coming out for Romney?

Chances are a lot of hair metal bands voted Republican.

I'm sure Eric Clapton (singer of "Cocaine" song) will endorse Obama any time now!

That should be exciting news for the press.

We can only hope that Martin Sheen and Charlie Sheen endorse Obama as well.

Yes, I think Romney's the candidate of choice for the Keep (America) White vote.

Oh yes, the bands whose entire purpose in existing was to protest the extreme bible thumping of moralists in the 80's courted by the Republican Party would've heavily voted Reagan? (cos God knows they weren't good at music)
[/scene of a whole bar room laughing]

Though, it does make sense that Reagan didn't go hoorah on the whole "war on drugs" until after 1984.  Hmm. . . . .  .interesting theory.

<Bzzzz> Being middle-aged white guys they probalby would do so today, but at the time most were decidedly apolitical. I few of the thinking man's metal bands with pretensions of intellectualism would've voted liberal. Megadeath and Metallica had some obviously anti-authoritarian lyrics (beyond the "fight for your right to party" brand). A copule Metallica members  donated to Kerry and Obama if memory serves.

Chances are a lot of hair metal bands voted Republican.

Boy, this certainly conflicted me. I just recently became obsessed with the Bat Out of Hell albums, but I'm an ardent Obama supporter. I need some time to think this out. Maybe if Jim Steinman weighs in...

Yep - no sane person alive wants to be reminded of the existence of 80s commercial rock (Meat Loaf is easily one of the best acts in that tradition, which tells you something). Have Journey endorsed Romney yet?

Australian Meat Loaf fan represent.

Although personally, I don't think a musician's or actor's endorsement would sway votes THAT much, unless they're very popular.

If Oprah ran, she'd win in a landslide.
