A libertarian Democrat and a Rocky Mountain Dem vs. two religious righters...

Would Dean be competitive in the Rocky Mountain states...

What would a map look like...

Of course, I'd vote Dean and he'd win pretty easily.

Dean/Dean. The map:

Dean wins 340-198. The closest states are Arizona, Missouri, and Arkansas.

This is the greatest ticket I've seen yet.  Lott/Santorum '08.

Any state that elects Robert Byrd would not vote for Howard Dean over Trent Lott...other than that it looks ok

Dean's NRA membership would play much better in West Virginia.

I think West Virginia might go Lott but be among the top 10 contested.

Perhaps Lott by 4-5%, he wont win how Bush won there.

Part of why Byrd gets elected is because the WV-Dem party is very strong.

That said, I'm not sure who would win W.V. in this hypothetical race.

"[Rick] Santorum is afflicted with the same condition as Trent Lott – a small mind but a big mouth." -- NOW President Kim Gandy, referring to Santorum's infamous anti-gay comment.

Dean was actually endorsed by Congressmen Mollohan and Rahall. Apparently they liked his ideas on healthcare and guns.
West Virginia is one of very few states were Dean would have done a lot better than Kerry.
