The margin of error for the poll, which was conducted by Public Policy Polling, is 2.8 percent. The survey was conducted Oct. 12-14 and surveyed 1,222 likely voters in the District.

The poll was largely of a local at-large council race.  The presidential horse race question is a typical question asked in a poll of a lower-tier race, in part, to calibrate the survey.  That they released it is a good thing, not a waste of time.  More data is better.

DC was 79 points more Democratic than the nation in 2008, so this projects to a 1% Obama lead nationwide.  Seems about right to me. Smiley
