Is anyone watching the debate? Thompson sounds like an angry old man...

Is this just the standard response for every Republican Senate nominee's debate performance?

"Deb Fischer, boy I'll tell you! Sounds like an angry old man in this debate!"

Nah. For instance, Scott Brown sounded like an angry, vaguely sexist, middle-aged man. Tongue

PPP says Baldwin is up by more than Obama (who's leading by 2).

The National Journal reports that Thompson is on the defensive on the Medicare issue:

It's funny how Thompson was so successful in off-year elections and now that he's facing a larger, more diverse electorate, he's struggling.

Looking back at Wisconsin history, the last time a Republican won a statewide election in a presidential year was Ronald Reagan in 1984 and Bob Kasten (narrowly) in 1980. Kohl won his seat in 1988 and Feingold won his in 1992. Ron Johnson could only be elected in a 2010-type environment.
