Disapprove - as usual. I've been too busy with other things to draft any new bills, participate in most of the debates, have missed a few votes, lost my committee seat, and am typically only at attention now when bills come up for the final votes. I do not intend to run for re-election but at a later date may return with some new ideas, more energy, and renewed focus.

You are doing a fine job Redalgo. You've been more active than the average member and your contributions are thoughtful and constructive.  Also, you were the lone vote against that usurpation of power against Atlasian citizens known as the "Contempt of Congress Act."

Our computer system at Survey Atlasia, only gets updated when we have a large infusion of cash. Tongue

It is purely to ensure that the Committees aren't ignored. I have no desire to see anybody lose their voting rights or offices, but if one is too inactive to appear before the committee, chances are one isn't doing their job either. I don't see a problem with having there be consequences, and thus responsiblity, attached to these positions. When the jobs aren't done, it subtracts from the playability of the game for everyone.

There needs to be a way to ensure that Committees have power.  Hopefully the legislation will not be needed, but we need that power if necessary.

I'm not a fan of centralizing power like this, but even I believe this bill is necessary. People don't seem to be approving of the Senate's work as much as they did during the last session. I believe active committees will help increase activity and get things going a bit quicker. We need an enforcement mechanism, and this bill provides one.

If your concern is with people who refuse to do their jobs, you can impeach them with a 2/3 vote.  When it comes to non-officeholders, I guess we just have a fundamental disagreement about the reach of the Senate and the nature of the game.

Don't worry, he'll be to busy being Vice-President to be your Regional Senator anymore. Wink

Well, it's edgy. Nothing particularly triggered it though. It just sounded good.
