He would have to have a huge Miracle in the first debate such as he comes in dressed as Rambo and says "I got this!"(Politico will love that).

He can recover, the liberal media is playing it out like it's the end of his campaign. That's false.

No.

Here in Va. I notice a lack of Romney commercials on T|V...heck, I don't even see Romney commercials on YouTube right now.

Something is very wrong with Romney's campaign and the damage is done.

Yes, in the sense that a table tennis player down 10-8 can still win the match. Is it terribly likely, given that we've seen that Romney is not the most coordinated player? Not really.

A more accurate scoreline is 8-1.

Somewhere in between the two, IMO.

And there you have your answer.

He can, but he has showed nothing during this campaign that would lead one to believe he will.

Absolutely.  The "terrible" Libya comments, if anything, had a positive effect; the White House is now back tracking on its initial comments.  The 47% comment at worst might create a blip.  Romney's 100% comments, from today, probably help.

A moderately good debate performance could be enough to shift things.

Possible, though I doubt it....unless there's a sudden double dip.

Well if there WAS a "liberal media" then Romney would be done. Your logic is flawed.

There is a liberal media, my logic is not flawed.  What has CNN, MSNBC or CBS said that's positive about the alternate to Obama?

Also, I'm saying that if the liberal media is so powerful, as you neo-cons put it, then Romney is over. You can't have it both ways, Sean!

Uh, Gallup has the race at 47-47 with Obama's approval rating trending downward by five points in the past week, so what is Romney recovering from?

Obama's ground game is going to be driven by strongly pro-gay marriage types in Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Pennsylvania because they're the only ones still believing in "hope and change." Good luck with that.

You mean rise, don't you?  It was $3.529 at the gas station I passed on my way to and from the store this evening.

I think it is interesting that the same people that are saying Romney can't recover this week, are some of the same people that were saying he couldn't recover from his Libya comments last week, before his poll numbers increased.

We're right and they're wrong. The difference between us and them: They're blinded by partisanship. They're even in denial about what is happening with the numbers, which is a trending towards Romney despite the supposed "end" to Romney first over the Libya comments and now over the 47% comment. While I will concede there is no reason to believe those comments helped Romney, there is also no reason to believe those comments hurt him, let alone finished him off.

Unless Obama has some magic up his sleeve, this sucker is going to break heavily to Romney when all is said and done. Even if Obama pulls a horseshoe out of his behind, he'll still come up short. No way he's getting four more years. Not after the past four years...
