Preferably not.  The audience for the in-jokes is a little too selective.

Unfortunately our capitalist society does not allow for one to go 15 hours out of their way to drive Snowstalker to a wedding, as such an act may offend the powers that be.

Too bad Tm took the obvious answer early on: I plan on being there.

For the record if I went I'd go with one of our many Pennsylvanian posters. Tongue

Oh. Sorry. My car evaporated.

I've come to the conclusion that the Tea Party as such is little more than an experiment in Radical Behaviourism. Rather than seeing as a systemic ideology with 'meanings', 'intentions' and, of course, 'history' as well as other mental abstractions and effluvium, the 'ideology' of the Tea Party is merely a set learned stimulus-responses that were adapted to one particular environment - the kitsch culture of the 80s - but are now maladaptive in our present circumstances or among sane people.

Thus an image of Obama - regardless of context - makes them salivate with incoherent rage and acts as an stimulus to perform their 'speech acts': MUH WELFARE, MUH MILITARY, MUH BENGHAZI - like Pavlov's dog. The repetitiveness of this stimulus-response mechanisms merely shows how particularly well-trained, and ill-thought out, these things are with little but other stimuli-responses associating themselves together. Therefore an image of Gun or a Muslim = Obama = DO NOT WANT = MUH WELFARE, MUH MILITARY, MUH BENGHAZI. There is no 'depth' or 'sense' here just learnt associations and stimulus reactions.

One of the founders of Modern 'Tea Partyism', the psychologist B.F. Skinner, training pigeons how to relate Benghazi to Abortion rates by giving them food in their cages when they hit upon the right stimulus. In six months time all of these pigeons will write for right-wing blogs or the National Review

Sarah Palin may be the most white trash Republican woman of all time, but Tonette Walker has the most white trash name of a Republican woman of all time. I don't know whether she's First Lady of Wisconsin or the plaintiff in Docket 30824 of the Panama City, Florida Municipal Small Claims Court.

Let me be clear: This restaurant owner is in no way representative of the fine people of the City of Enid or the State of Oklahoma.  This man can serve who he wants to serve and is protected under the first amendment, but in no way would I ever eat there.

I don't think his speech is protected, and I'm pretty damn sure he can't turn away customers for whatever bigoted reasons he likes.

Anyway, I hope he gets sent to prison, has to survive by becoming a prag, and gets permanently injured so he cannot work and must subsist on welfare. I also hope a disabled shemale buys his business and turns it into a mosque.

Yuck. It was the home of all those awful Forty-eighters and it's disgusting scent of socialism reaks in the nostrils of our great capitalist nation.

I didn't know political views had a scent to them.

'fcourse they do! libertarianism, for example, smells of mountain dew and sadness.

I was hoping the movie would be about the Lego blocks turning on us and they start building things out of children.  Oh well, there's always the sequel.

Random flashbacks?  Like the time Boss Tweed criticized Inks over how he entered an LA Times poll in the database by flashing back to a story about "The Group"?

ok, Inks, I won't curse you out.  just don't do that anymore.  because you want the numbers to look a certain way.  we all do.  but hey, it doesn't work out like that.  let me tell you a story, Inks.  back in the summer I hung out with this group.  we called it, The Group.  we hung out from mid-afternoon everyday to past midnight.  but then this girl came in.  well, she was there anyway, but she ed sh**t up hardcore.  and one of my friends was in love with her, but it was painfully obviously he'd never get with her.  then another of my friends fell in love with her around August 10th.  and she actually liked him.  but there was a problem.  my two friends that were in love with the same girl, they had been best friends forever.  literally.  so the friend that.  oh who cares.  the point is, it ed sh**t up.  and now The Group is no longer.  and I've tried to wink towards my past, but winking towards it doesn't work.  I've become obsessed with it.  and I want The Group back, but it's no longer.  I want the numbers to look a certain way.  but they don't.  sorry Inks.  it happens.  so don't mess with my entries and I won't mess with yours.  it's better that way.

Yeah, I don't think they're all that clever.  Usually, when someone does a flashback like that, it's because they're trying too hard.

It's just that you didn't use the same headline as NYE's newsfeed, so NYE didn't slow down enough to notice that.

I convinced my wife to sign up, but it didn't take her long to get sick of some of the pimply-faced know-it-alls on here. I think there have been other husband/wife members on here, too.

I plan on gathering up all the cat hair from the house, stuffing it into a plastic bag, and humping it until the tears stop spilling from my eyes and instead come careening out of my ..garden hose.

Because if there's one thing everyone associates with the Confederacy, it's freedom.
And winning!

You forgot the word "threats" in the title.

It wouldn't fit... trust me I hate title length restrictions too!

So you picked the worst possible word to omit.

WWII provided an interesting contrast in ideologies. You had True Leftism (Stalin), the far right (Hitler), mainstream conservatism (Churchill) and standard progressivism/modern day liberalism (FDR). And it's also quite obvious from that comparison which of those ideologies is the best.
