You guys who like telonovela nonsense will enjoy my latest contribution to this thread. I got friend-zoned by someone I accidentally fell madly in love with (as it turns out I'm a romantic and kind of conservative in a few ways). Pree normal but I was also told that I was very attractive and that she needed to get to know me better before committing. Socially inept females confuse me. Say no and be like "ur a nice guy" or something if you want to let me down easy. Don't make up lies or be inadvertently mean.

Brand New - "Secondary"

+1, good contribution.

I already feel unchained from this situation outside of my puzzlement that I could be so madly attracted to someone who is far less interesting/bootiful than me. Pheromones can piss off.

Also I get to meet Ezra Klein.

Update: I met Ezra Klein and gave him a fanboy shout out. I am feeling defeated by college in so many ways. This school is tough.

Well, they advertise that. I'm discouraged from attending as a result. If you don't mind me asking, what sort of financial aid are you getting?

That's far further than I've ever gone.

Ooooh, didn't notice that post. That sounds awful. Something like that happened to me recently as well, but I wouldn't like to talk about it/take away from your thread. It hurts, really... I also have the same tendency to do that. I hope things work out for you.

I think I listened to Ezra Klein once at college. I was not impressed.

Hmm. As am I currently wondering how to talk to the girl I find sitting on our stoop in the evenings smoking and drinking, usually, what appears to be a glass of whisky. I've barely seen her, but the chutzpah is what gets me.

I think this thread is quite necessary, by the way.

Are things now less sad? I hope so because I'm not going to be helping in that regard, I'm afraid. Well actually, I could cheer you up and show how things could be even worse. Do you want to hear how incompetent I am?

So a few weeks... a month ago now, even, I was sitting in the library, and went off to, well, do things. When I came back I found a scrap of paper with a phone number on it. (There were no surprises about who sent it and whatnot- the girl sitting across from me) Now how would this end for most people? Rather well, I imagine. I mean, if a girl hands you her number after merely looking at you for an hour or so this must say a lot about your attractive... prowess. Which of course left me baffled, because I'm quite deficient in that department. But I'm almost not baffled by where I am now, a month after, with no date ever having happened and certainly not anything else. Of course, I'm actually baffled about it- how did I f[inks] this up after all- but is bafflement truly baffling if it's the consistent outcome of this sort of thing?

I'm afraid I haven't become any more successful in this regard when I was away. But I was just told I am facing no opponents in my bid to become finance director of our club here. Hurrah for that, I guess. So, TheDeadFlagBlues, if you feel bad, remember, you could be me. Which would be tragic.

Didn't happened to me, but never eat sushi from a school luncheon. Never.
