9.  (10 on delivery.)

Too retrospective at the start.  Citing Eisenhower was silly.

Some of the claims of "bipartisanship" by appointing Hillary were silly.

"Keep hoping" is not a solution to the economic problems.  The economy is the elephant in the voting booth.

Too long.  He probably as well as he could in the circumstances.

Obviously a very good speech. I think it was mostly aimed at white men. Notice the step by step logical rational approach, not appealing on sentiment but bullet points.

Yeah, women can only deal with emotion, not logic.  If you try to attack them with logical arguments, the female brain has ways to shut that whole thing down.

Same with non-white men. Like angry black me-you know what, this is not even worth it.

And more and more Americans realize that the Republicans would rather have the economy fail than see Obama re-elected.

10/10. Mitt Romney is Toast. i think this will help Obama get reelected.
People are not voting for Bill Clinton, remember Obama is running STILL.

Is anybody arguing that? did you even watch Bill Clinton's speech? It was all about Barack Obama
No s***, I watched it.  Just because Clinton was talking and praising Obama doesn't mean Romney is toast.  That's plain ludacrous.

Bill is such an elegant speaker that his speech definitely helped Obama and, sure, probably reassured some independent voters. The election isn't tomorrow, though, so it seems foolish to say that Bill Clinton just won the election for Obama.

It's not ludicrous to think that this assisted Barack Obama. LOL. I don't even know what you're trying to say here. Obviously the election isn't decided--it's September, but Mitt Romney's loss is becoming more and more likely. Your point was that they're not voting for Bill Clinton. DUH. Nobody said that.

Best speech of the convention. Much of the first day wasn't very good and Warren didn't knock it out of the park. And that being said, it wasn't perfect. Clinton's 2nd half of the speech had a much chillier reaction. Ultimately, the most important speech will still be Obama's.

Still a damn good speech though. Slick Willlyyy

It's Romney's loss so we can support more failed Obama promises for a 2nd term?

After many long years, J. J. is on the verge of hitting my ignore list.

JJ is almost like a computer program at this point.  He'll give a left handed compliment, so as not to look like politico or Winfield, and then just straight hackery poorly disguised as analysis.

Which is the most spot on summary of his posting I've ever read, and basically exactly how he operated in 2008 as well.

I only saw the last 15 minutes, but that was so good I am going to go looking for the whole speech on Youtube or something.

Why does the iTunes podcast stuck this year? In 2008 they had basically every speech up day of, now they just have some stupid preliminary stuff. Eh, it'll be all over YouTube soon enough.

Ok, I had a blue avatar for a full 7 years before you even joined and lamented the loss of many conservative voices on this site. Being consistently disingenuous and never admitting they may be wrong is just hackery.

Best speech of either of the conventions so far. He went over time which kinda reminded me of his speech in 1988 lol.

Hey, I've been a Democrat for most of my life. Just saying that this is a pretty common thing you see in America today. People deliberately ignoring everyone who disagrees with them. Group polarization. etc. etc. Though I wasn't quoting your post. I was quoting the post you quoted.

After many long years, J. J. is on the verge of hitting my ignore list.

Whoops. Sorry for the confusion.

No, more and more Americans are realizing that Obama has failed the county.

Wow, that was one hell of a speech. I don't know how much of a difference it will make, considering most swing voters don't watch this sort of thing, but any who were watching are much more likely to vote for Obama now. Just obliterated the Republicans in a nice way. Especially enjoyed his discussion of Romney's "plan" to cut the deficit by cutting taxes.
