Does anyone think either Michelle or Obama grew up in remotely deprived circumstances?

Considering they were born as black Americans in the 1960s, yes obviously.

With a father with a nice government job in Chicago.  Smiley

For Winfield:

David Gergen: "If they have another two nights like this, they might just break this race open!"

He also singled out Deval Patrick as the best speaker of the night.

So Michelle gives a rather apolitical speech that still manages to demolish the Republican worldview. Yay! I'm more confident than ever that we're winning in November.

Chris Matthews apparently said Julian Castro's speech was one of the greatest he's ever heard.

Uh, it was decent. Calm down, Chris.

I missed it, but he should probably should have been featured.

Ok, my friends and I were watching C-Span and were playing a drinking game with Michelle's speech. Whenever they showed a white guy in the crowd (or a woman with a flamboyant hat) we drank. We much more after 1 minute of the prayer then during the whole speech.

not to sound racist, but there were some seriously misguided hats being worn by some of the African-american women. IMHO

You're not going to last a minute on any drinking game if the target is "showing a white guy on TV."

Not sure if I heard this right but Fox News Twitter watch...

75 tweets per minute during Ann Romney's speech
18,000 tweets per minute during Michelle Obama's

To be fair, black people LOVE twitter.

MSNBC: tries to be the Fox News of the Left, fails miserably. Now I admit I want them to succeed, but they just don't have it.

More likely due to an overload of Labor Day BBQ leftovers pictures.

The only speech I ended up seeing before primetime was Booker's.  The way he was able to make  the results of a platform committee sound inspiring was impressive.
I tried to watch Patrick's speech for a few minutes, but it seemed like he was constantly yelling and I couldn't tell why.
Julian Castro's was pretty good - though that "first they called it trickle-down then they called it supply side" was silly since trickle-down was always just what people who opposed supply-side called it.
Michelle Obama finished strong on her speech.

Were those Robin Hood hats people were wearing in the audience? Is that like the Left's answer to the tricornored hats of the Tea Party?

Michelle's going a little overboard with the poverty and devastation.

The problem is the disconnect between the rhetoric and the reality.  I think it will all come down to Friday.

What happens on Friday?

LOL at Ted Kennedy's "multiple choice" comment 18 years ago when Romney was trying to out pro-choice him.

It's the timing of this one (which might be good for Obama, BTW).

No, the Democrats have to hope it is good, or the change for the worse.
