It will be worth switching to the one of the broadcast networks at 7pm to see how the non political junkies will see the convention. One of the things the GOP got wrong was how they organized their final hour each night.

Patrick's speech is fantastic.  This is the kind of fire Democrats need to have.

I'm hoping it's good. The woman talking about how Obamacare saved her daughter's life was fantastic. If our primetime material is on the same level we'll come riding out of the convention with quite the bump in the polls.

The folks at the RNC looked downright bored in comparison.

^^^^^^^^^^^^

Since we already have a memorial carillon in DC to conservative icon Ohio Sen. Robert Taft, it would only be fair to have an equivalent to Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy.  That stretch of land south of the Labor Department would do nicely.

IF MITT ROMNEY OBAMA WERE SANTA CLAUS, HE WOULD FIRE ABORT THE REINDEER AND OUTSOURCE FORCE GAY MARRIAGE ON THE ELVES

You're on the wrong side of history.

Pro-life view has higher support than pro-abortion and has since 2008.

Nagas, Hate to beak it to you and the other progressives but every time the people within a state get to vote regarding marriage (even California) traditional marriage wins. It's sad the DNC refuses to aknowledge God and honor that our rights come from God not government or recgonize that JERUSALEM IS THE ETERNAL CAPTIAL OF ISRAEL Truman, Cleveland, Bryant etc would be weeping in shame over what the democrats have become.

Gay marriage is legal in 6 states+DC, and this is only the beginning. Within the next two decades we'll see gay marriage go from 50/50 for/against to overwhelmingly in favor. You are on the wrong side of history, and I'm not sure how you feed this fantasy that Americans would suddenly turn against it. America is departing a nation of WASPs and embracing a more diverse nation in terms of ethnicity and religion.

I'm looking forward to Maine this November. The weak talking point that "OMG GAY MARRIAGE ALWAYS FAILS AT THE POLLS THEREFORE IT'S INVALID!!!11" will finally be invalidated.

And are you on crazy pills? And who is Bryant? Last time I checked, Kobe was sticking to that B-Ball.

I want to reintroduce my question: will you still be able to function mentally when the SCOTUS legalizes gay marriage throughout the country? I know that a lot of white-power types were still coherent after Brown v Board, but the gay-marriage opponents seem rabid and engrained in their hate.

Bryant? Willam Jennings Bryant. An old school democrat worth of much more respect than many of the democrats of today. My question to you is what are you gonna do when the SCOTUS honors the rights of the states and the people regarding marriage not the will of a appellate judge.

I don't hate those of LGBT persuasion, I think the lifestyle is one that is wrong.

Surely Chaffee can't be serious when he talks of fiscal responsibility as we crossed $16 trillion in debt today!

Debt accumulated by your party. You do realize that Dems are the party of fiscal responsibility, right? Republicans have become the big-spending reactionary party. The last Republican president with a balanced budget?

...

...

...Eisenhower...

Facts. Republicans could use some.

Notice how I didn't mention the GOP in my statement. I never claimed the Republicans did a great job. But this whole "well the republicans spent a lot too!" rebuttal is old. Fact is, we are in serious fiscal trouble. I don't care which party fixes it. But it's clear Obama is not capable of it based on his first term in office.

There were higher priorities, like saving us from the biggest economic disaster in history.

By the summer of 2009, all the things that could have been done to save the situation in terms of bailouts and stabilizing the financial sector were being done. Obama still had 65% approvals and the ability to focus on whatever he wanted. Had choose to pursue a long-term fiscal solvency package of tax increases in say 2013 and entitlement reforms, it would have likely gotten passed and given a bigger boost to himself and to economic confidence than the gridlock and an apparent legislative incompetence on his part displayed during the Healthcare debate.

Yes, I'd say Duke has many a good reason to doubt Obama's ability to get the job done on that matter going forward.

O'Malley felt weak compared to Patrick. Not as boring as T-paw, but there's much better.
