episodes in consumer pathology: my new laptop came in the mail

my mother had $600 left in the account she made for tax purposes to put me through college, and agreed to use it to buy a new computer.  and here it is, my first post from it:  Dell "Inspiron 15" or some such, an upgrade to 6/750 from 2/120.  another warhorse of a Dell laptop put me through undergrad, start to finish, and as I move on, so do my possessions.
