Michael McKeon poll of Cook County, Illinois
Obama 49%
Romney 37%

City of Chicago:
Obama 60%
Romney 29%

Cook County Suburbs:
Romney 45%
Obama 38%

Independents:
Romney 43%
Obama 31%

629 RVs.
------------------------

Obama won Cook County 76%-23% in 2008.

This poll by a pollster I've never heard of seems a bit off and has high undecideds.  But if Obama is only ahead by 12 in Cook County, Illinois will be much closer this time around.  I doubt it's accurate, though.

68-70% is pretty much the floor for Obama in Cook.

Even Pat fu**in Quinn won Cook by 65-29 in a huge GOP year.

Yep this seems ridiculous. In a strong strong GOP year (2004), and when the home-state boy was not on the ballot, Bush only managed 29% to Kerry's 70% in Cook County. No way Obama drops beneath 60% here.

I heard Romney's only leading Utah County by 11 points, too.

If this were somehow true, Romney would be leading in Illinois. Wink

Yes, a Dem lead of but 12% in Cook County is beyond the looking glass where Alice went, and met with the sole exception of the wizard all those neat new species of something arguably in the animal kingdom but perhaps not (well the wicked witch of the west is in her own kingdom) who spoke flawless English.

Junk poll, but does anyone know if this pollster has a decent track record?

I never heard of them before today.  Their website is here:
http://www.mckeonandassociates.com/

There's not much on it - an old 2010 poll for Chicago mayor showing the field wide open.

Can't believe that.

If Obama can win ANY county in the United States, it's Cook County.
