Huntsman? (anyone know if he has a spot at the RNC that would contradict this?)

I heard Clinton's the keynote, but he's Democrat. It does make me wonder.

I can imagine Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida taking the stage at the DNC to talk about how he's become a Democrat and how the Republicans have grown too extreme and gone far-right, leading him to join the Dems.

Yeah, you know I was kind of thinking of him after you mentioned it. I don't know for sure... but... It could also be the governator. He would fit that boat too.

Seeing the Governator endorse Obama would be far too depressing.

Not saying it will happen... just making it a possibility because he was another pretty left Republican for these days.

Crist is an Independent now, he doesn't count. Artur Davis (the bitter opportunist) is playing the role of Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller this year at the RNC. We need someone who could upstage him, which shouldn't be hard. I say it should be Schwarzennegger or Huntsman. John Warner would be great too, if he's not too old.

Crist changes his ID to Democrat, gives a long speech about how his party is too extreme, and at the end announces his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Governor in 2014.

Schwarzenegger left office very unpopular and had a big scandal when it came out he had a child with his maid. That would be a bad choice.

Having William Weld speak would be a huge poke in the eye to Romney (fellow MA governor, endorsed him in the '08 primaries but endorsed Obama for the general).

Though I'm wondering if it won't end up being Susan Molinari or some other '90s-era moderate Republican who no one remembers anymore.

Olympia Snowe, Steve LaTourette or some Republican who's leaving because of the partisan politics would be excellent.

Chafee isn't a Republican anymore either. Wouldn't surprise if he announced he was formally switching though.

Anyway, Huntsman.
