No story yet, but he died of emphysema.

Carson made a career of political jokes, but they were mostly directed at politics and politicians in general.  He made jokes about specific politicians, but he never engaged in the destructive, partisan character assassination that reigns in political humor today.  The world lost a good man today.

I agree. He was a bit like Will Rogers. His wit will be missed.

His wit has been missed.  Truely one of the great entertainers and commentators in the last half of the 20th Century.

I am shocked. I have always wanted him to come back and do a few shows. I just can't believe it.

Johnny, you've been missed. But you gave your all for 30 years and all you wanted was to slip away quietly and enjoy some much deserved rest. You had 13 years of it and now an eternity of peace. Thanks for the memories.
