http://www.dailykos.com/weeklypolling/2012/8/2

Interesting to note that for the last 2 days of the survey (Saturday and Sunday), Romney led 50-43% and 52-44%, respectively

Also, Rommey's 42/49% favorability number is the best its been in four weeks. It was 41/49% last week. However, last week, Obama led just 48-47%.

Party ID is D+2.

I find it very weird that PPP can come out with polls such as Colorado +6 and North Carolina +3 for Obama then release a national poll via Daily Kos with the President only leading by two.

It's also rather interesting that nearly all PPP's Daily Kos polls have shown a very close race.

PPP national and state numbers are discordant by about 4 points.

Good point. I'd agree that if this is truly a 2 point race nationally as the DKos poll suggests, Obama should not be leading by those margins in Colorado and North Carolina. It'd be about a 2-3 pt race in Colorado, and Romney would be ahead by 3-4 in NC.

It's only plausible if Obama's ad campaigns have been targeted and effective in the swing states while the rest of the country still has a fuzzy positive feeling toward Romney... but I don't believe it.

Romney wins Independent voters by 3 and loses hispanics by only 20...
