I got this in an email. I get all sorts of strange emails these days. Is this the GOP Dream Team or the GOP Nightmare Team?  I have already voted. My opinion of course will be of no surprise. With the exception of Patraeus, I would be hard pressed to concoct a worse nightmare. Thank you. Paul at the Fed and Bachmann at Treasury?  LOL! And with Joe at Homeland Security, browns had better take the train rather than fly! Tongue

Joe Arpaio for Secretary of Homeland Security? LMAO. This was obviously written by a very conservative 13 year old with a budding interest in politics.

Ron Paul's good. Pam Bondi is not, and Petraeus is ineligible.

"John Bolton vs. Hillary Clinton
Sarah Palin vs. Steven Chu Tongue Grin
Michelle Bachman vs. Timothy Geithner"

This would guarantee Mitt gets the worst results for a Republican since Goldwater.

Plus not only is Petraeus ineligible to be SecDef as has already been pointed out, but Ron Paul couldn't become Fed Chair until February 2014 at the earliest when Bernanke's current term expires.

Patraeus cannot resign from the military to be Sec of Defense?

This list makes me want to give up on politics. The best part of a West for VP decision would be it might save his seat in the house. That might be the only positive. As for the others, if she hadn't ever gotten the VP nod in 2008 I might think Palin would be a great energy secretary, but not now. John Bolton represents the very worst strains of Republican anti-internationalism and I would vote for Obama to keep him out. Bondi and Jindal are fine and I'm not sure about Petraeus but he'd probably be fine also. Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann in charge of the Fed and the Treasury would cause a run on the dollar in 20 minutes and Mitt would lose any business support en masse.

He could resign immediately and be eligible to be SecDef in 7 years from his date of resignation. Since Paul can't be Fed Chair for another couple years too, it's an entirely awful list.

Petraeus, Bondi and Jindal are okay.

The others, not so much.

I'm starting to wonder if the people writing these kind of emails are secretly trying to scare people into voting for Obama.

He has to have been out of the military for 7 years to be eligible.  It used to be 10 years which kept Powell from being considered as Sec Def and ensured he'd be Sec State in W's cabinet.  Got reduced to 7 years in 2008 (which I hadn't realized had been done until I saw Joyce's post above), which would have allowed Powell to be Sec Def if that had been the law then.  Petraeus can be the Sec Def for whoever wins the 2020 election.

Hey Grumps, are you getting grumpier by the day? Just how does my little effort (hey, I even had to go to the trouble of printing the darn thing, then scanning it, then screen shooting it, then uploading it to photobucket, and then downloading it), even have the patina of trolling?  Just asking. I found the list singularly arresting myself. And it is not even mine. I am a mere conduit. Don't kill the messenger!

And all I asked for was for your opinion.  Do you have one btw? Tongue

Well, that wasn't exactly an eco-friendly solution.

I'm with the almost unanimous voters......which is why this is clearly trolling, but your hard work in providing a world class troll thread has not escaped me Tongue Smiley

Pulp for paper is made from these ugly little spindly pine tree groves that make Mississippi and environs singularly monotonous these days. They deserve to be destroyed.

Most of these choices are obnoxious at best, atrocious at worst. Ron Paul for fed chairmanship is probably the best choice here, becuase he would just destroy the fed from the inside.

I think Michelle Bachmann for Tim Geithner's position officially picks the only person less able for the Secretary of the Treasury than Geithner himself.
