Funny how older people prefer Obama more than younger people.

I dunno how that happened. It's the opposite in the US.

Those numbers would tighten a bit if the candidates actually campaigned there and more people knew who Mitt Romney is.

Proportionally, it's Romney who gains most among older voters (going from 9% among the under 35 crowd to 12% among those over 50....a 33% increase).  Presumably, both candidates have higher numbers among the old because olds are more likely to follow the news, and actually have opinions about the American presidential election.

Not anymore thanks to Facebook and Twitter. They act like CNN or FOX News for young adults.

My guess is that Canadians tend to be better informed about US politics than Americans, but it's less true for young people.

Who the hell is in the Greens or NDP and votes for Romney?

Very rich Greens for example. They exist.

Greens outside of the US are generally the definition of latte liberal (if they're not a college student).

The poll has Obama over Romney 67-9 with those under 35, and 71-12 with those over 50, so Obama leads by 59 points with older voters... and by 58 points with younger voters. Not statistically significant. What might be more meaningful are the higher numbers of undecided among those under 35, which may reflect less engagement with US politics on the part of younger voters, as others have suggested.

The people who aren't informed or engaged tend to favour Obama because "he's cool" and "Republicans are nuts."

We obviously need a world map like this one from the 2008 Democratic primary. As you can see, Obama landslided Antartica by winning its one voter.

I seem to recall Clinton being more popular here... maybe not. But either way, they both got better numbers than McCain (in a 3-way race)

Asia and Latin America would be more Clinton.
