Yes, I think him being a sock is a reasonable hypothesis.

He's obviously a fake, but as a left-wing hack in good standing here I take umbrage at the idea that he's been created by a reputable poster. He could just as easily be a random person who decided it would be fun to join as a weak parody of a right-winger.

I think he's real. His worldview and opinion of Obama may seem like a bad parody, but I've heard plenty of real people spew this type of bile ever since Obama took office.

What makes it more curious is the fact that up until a year or two ago, it was difficult for any poster (other than outright spammers, etc) to get banned. On sites like alternatehistory these kinds of posters would be banned on sight, so you think they might have taken better advantage of this forum's relatively libertarian moderation system.

Probably not real, but these views do exist out there. Similar to JSJ's situation. The characters he created might not have been real but those sorts of people certainly do exist. They just don't post on internet forums. I'm not even sure if they are capable of accessing the internet.
