What do you all think? IMO, this paragraph gives me some insight into why Romney is such a puzzle politically, why he "flip-flops" on many issues, and other aspects of his political personality (or personalities Cheesy )

Well, I'm all for politicians being adaptable and not fixated on ideological dogma.  I also have been watching politics long enough to understand that, while I'm not a fan at all of pandering, politicians in close races who don't do it lose--even though Romeny does more of it openly than I think he should.  If he is really a hyper-analytical problem-solver who depends on evidence and empiricism as much as I keep hearing, I think that's a good thing too.  I don't know how accurate Wallace-Wells' quote is represented or if he is right in his observation, but the one thing that does raise a flag for me is what he intimates about Romney's lack of "humanism." The problems that need to be solved are not just numbers games, they are human problems.  I'd prefer a president, in the balance of analytical rigor and humanism, to have both games going.
