The Avengers sinks Battleship (pun intended), rules the domestic box office for the third week in a row (a truly amazing feat in a month like May):

Tarantino's Django Unchained previewed to raves at Cannes:

Early reviews are pouring in for Moonrise Kingdom (extremely positive), Men In Black III (meh) and Piranha 3DD (awful Sad ).

Okay, this is pretty hilarious. This movie was literally supposed to come out next month and they've pushed it back nine months. Can you imagine how much money will have been wasted on advertising? My theater just put up a huge standee advertising the June 29th date and we are still running the trailers for it. It must be pretty damn bad, as in "extensive reshoots needed now" bad. The 3D conversion is likely a cover.

...wow. Not only is there tons of wasted advertising I'm sure many contracts with theaters means they're going to have some wasted payments for reservations or whatever. Yeah probably unbelievably bad.

March is also not a good month for that type movie.

The Great Gatsby looks like a good watch.

Snow White and the Huntsman is actually currently fresh, hmmm. Of course I have a feeling it'll drop into rotten territory and possibly even below 50% once more reviews come in, but I'm a little surprised.

The trailer for Django Unchained. Looks awesome, unsurprisingly.

Wow, could Pixar actually have another film go rotten? Maybe Cars 2 wasn't a fluke.

I understand this movie had a bit of a troubled development, including firing the original director, who was also the main storyboard writer and concept developer.
