Yes, black Mormon:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWnPI3Yo2b0

Being black does not imply a certain mindset- being Mormon, and most probably a convert, almost certainly does.

I'm going to say more Romney than the Mormon population as a whole.

Besides Gladys Knight (who said that she won't vote Romney even though she's Mormon), probably mostly the same as white Mormons. A few might go for Obama though.

There's just not that many black Mormons; however they vote won't make a difference.

Now, Hispanic Mormons are a different issue, especially since the LDS Church itself has been a lot more moderate on immigration stances than the GOP has. The Latino Mormon population has been growing faster than any other ethnic group in the LDS Church.

Reminds me of Mia Love - the black, Morman, female Republican running against Matheson out in Utah. I imagine she's voting for Romney.

I think they're all Romney for those guys.

Black Mormons would be a swing group.

My great-grandfather was a Mormon, I never met him, as he died in 1977, but he was hardcore Democrat. I presume most Black Mormons are Democrats, Blacks don't generally conflate religion with how they vote.

Black Mormons are generally Larouchites, so I doubt either Romney or Obama will get many of their votes.

Yeah, I remember she mentioned it in passing, and I was like, "wait, you're Mormon?  You?  Mormon?!"  I couldn't really grasp it for a while.  She's kind of an L.A. hipster though, and yet she claims to still be practising.  She even went to BYU and everything.

No, the average black is socially moderate and economically leftist.

That's debatable but I wasn't really being serious anyway.

It's not like the President will win 100% of the black vote.  He got around 95% in 2008 right?  So the other 5% has to come from somewhere.

What will Romney's % of the vote be among Mormon Democrats and black Republicans?

One of my trainers was black and adopted as a baby by Mormon parents who raised him that way in Utah.  He bagged it all when he hit 18, but has no real resentment against Mormons. He just wasn't a resentful kind of guy; more of a sweetheart really. We didn't talk politics. He was a great guy, and at my urgings, because he was bright, went back to finish college at Berkeley.  We still keep in touch, and I gave him my old man's advice from time to time. He is the one who turned me on to my magic morning protein drink, that helped shed the pounds.

I enjoy my interactions with young people. We help each other out. Smiley

Sadly, he can't run for President of any country now.  Sad  Coups will do that.
