Yes, it's sad because he was a good guy. I think he was "eated" by the political world : he wasn't like the others and hadn't a lot of friends. He was railwayman and electrician when he was young while all the other ministers were in Universities, High Schools like the ENA, etc. He was named minister in 1982, and became prime minister in 1992, it's really short in France. He was a really good friend of Mitterand, but when Bérégovoy was implied in some embezzlements things, Mitterand did nothing to support him. He commited suicide on the 1st of May 1993. Some people think he was murdered cause he known a lot of secret things about Mitterand.
and after the legislative elections of 1993 !
RPR-UDF won nearly everythnig that year.
