I disagree with a lot of his opinions, but I can understand where they come from given his experiences and background. And given that I can't really find them repulsive. He seems to be a reasonably tolerant person doing his best to engage in civil discourse and he provides a different perspective than many others on here.

Really torn. Some (many) of his beliefs are archaic and utterly juxtaposed to mine, and he seems to be flaunting those repulsive views more frequently. However, he's lived (still is living) a full life, offers us a primary source into our deep history (he's better than J.J.), and can be pretty humorous. Considering his age though, he does seem pretty open and willing to debate.

For some reason I don't read many of his posts, but those I have read I find polite and measured, even if sometimes he overindulges in over broad generalizations, and fails to see a lot of the grays out there. I tend not to be sympathetic to his world view that Western culture is going to hell. I am more optimistic than he is I guess.

Anyway, FF. He does add diversity to the forum, which is needed around here.
