None of these guys are dropping out before everything's done.

If he comes in fifth, he might consider it.

Gingrich is having too much fun and apparently he is also making money. His campaign is paying him money and  he is selling books and DVDs, so why stop? Plus he has convinced himself that he is helping Santorum in the quest to preventing Romney from getting 1144.

Even though they should both drop out for the sake of the party, and even though neither one has any hope of winning the nomination, Gingrich is too bitter and Santorum is too arrogant to drop out.

They are both trying to turn their nomination runs into becoming the host of a news show.

I mean it's one thing to associate arrogance to Gingrich...but to call Santorum arrogant...I mean he keeps winning states can you blame him for staying in?

I think this is the last week where there's a chance for him to drop out; if he doesn't this week, he's in it until June.

Considering that today will probably be the first day in six weeks where he reduces Romney's lead, yes.

At this point Romney is the nominee and Obama will be reelected.  Santorum and Gingrich are staying in for 2 reasons.

1) To increase their personal publicity so that their speaker and lobbying fees go up.

2) To try to set themselves up for a 2016 run.

At this point, there's nothing to gain personally from dropping out. Gingrich has already poured a sh**tload of money into this campaign; keeping it going a couple more months isn't going to be that much worse.

Now that his regional status has more or less been etched in stone, he might as well move on to Arkansas and hang out there for the time being.

He's not even a regional candidate. GA and SC do not a region make.

As a Georgian, I speak for residents of Georgia when I offer my sincere apologies for our selection of Newt Gingrich in the Super Tuesday primaries. Maybe if he had more of a race here he might have been more pressured to drop out. But you know how we are down here. We'll vote for the Georgian in the race no matter how inept and unelectable he may be. Do I need to bring up Carter's 15 point victory here in 1980?

The only primary Newt needs to win is the one in Sheldon Adelstein's head.

As a Georgian, I offer no apology to anyone for my Super Tuesday Newt Gingrich vote. I voted for him because I was inspired by the possibility that Newt's overinflated ego could needlessly prolong the Republican nomination process and hopefully even result in a brokered convention. So far, I've gotten exactly what I voted for. Grin

(Also, Lief and oakvale told me to do it in AtlasChat, so why not? At least I got a Georgia Voter sticker!)
