Cameron said it was his first basketball game and the pace was "fast and furious." He said Obama helped him follow the action, while Obama said Cameron was going to return the favor by teaching him cricket.

"Because I don't understand what's going on with that cricket thing," Obama said.

Never seen someone look more out of place. Ever.

Cameron, I mean. Funny how he endorsed McCain/Palin in 2008, I wonder if he mentioned whether he's supporting Mitt or Rick this time. Wink

Not quite.  Cameron praised John McCain in January '08 while the primaries were still up in the air, but offered no further comment once McCain became the nominee, and the ticket became McCain/Palin.

He also didn't exactly endorse him, either.  Despite the headline of this article, this is what he had to say:

But then at the same time he also had this to say:

I'm glad he has time to do these things while defending our country. Next year he'll have alot more time on his hands it's looking like.

I'm sure you were similarly outraged when Bush took all those months of vacation in Crawford.

Bush spent 8 months of vacation in Crawford. Obama has spent 4 years on vacation in Washington D.C.

Obama has spent 4 years on vacation in Washington D.C.

With all of that time devoted to relaxation, he hasn't even had the time to instigate a socialist takeover of the federal government. Sad

"So maybe I should come clean about last night. We went to basketball, and we had a real man-to-man chat. Barack tried to confuse me by talking about bracketology -- but I got my own back by running him gently through the rules of cricket."

I was in a room watching CNN in an Adam Hasner office (yes, I am doing real campaign work, not signwaving) when I heard the 1812 jokes. After a brief silence, everyone started giggling. Obama was funny Tongue

Sad I wish our Prime Minister was... charismatic enough to do those kinds of things.

I do wonder why so much attention is paid to the British PM, when Canada is actually the US's biggest trading partner, and most important ally.

Is the UK doing anything to celebrate the bicentennial? It's going to played up here a bit.

Most Brits I talk to don't know anything about the War of 1812, if they've even heard of it.  Their major focus at the time was the Napoleonic War; 1812 was a now forgotten sideshow for them.

Because the UK is a permanent member of the UN security council, and is a much bigger economic, political, and military power than Canada?

Also, there's always been a great level of Anglophilia among Americans, especially wealthy, especially Northeastern, especially among WASPs and "WASP culture" (i.e. most of the media).

It's like Obama has no idea what to do.  He's consistent, at least.
