so Bush had to have a Democratoc Lt. Gov? Mwahahaha....

Bob Bullock was actually about as conservative as Bush was if not more.  I remember during Ma Richards reign, he made sure to pass a law which said that any income tax (since Texas has no state income tax) had to be approved by the voters as well as the legislature, guaranteeing no income tax would ever come to pass.

After initial clashes, they basically worked to push the Bush gubernatorial agenda through the Texas House and Senate, especially tort reform.

Bob Bullock was the type of Democrat I liked and could elected in Texas easily (I would have always voted for him).  Unfortunately, he died of cancer in 2001, I think.  He supported Bush originally for President in 2000.
