The anti-Mormon rhetoric sure is ugly. Is the left only good nowadays at being hateful towards religion, and successful people? You do realize this is the United States, not the Soviet Union, right? It's favorable to be religious and successful in America.

With this type of response, I have to conclude that you don't know anything about this country.

90% of America believes in some sort of God. Most people in America want to be successful.

This is not complicated, Sam. Being religious, and most certainly respecting freedom of religion, is the norm in America. Striving to be successful is what America is all about. Hating religion and successful people is not normal outside of certain faculties on college campuses. It is not even normal in the Democratic Party to hate religion and successful people.

I hear Mitt Romney is looking for some platitudes to borrow.  Can you share?

Sure: Our ancestors came out to America looking for freedom, not a free ride. They came in pursuit of happiness, not government benefits.

Do you believe in an America that is the best, or do you want to transform America into another socialist cesspool? That is the choice of this decade.

I will post a video to describe how I feel about Romney so as to not get death points.

Something had to be done in response to that article that gave the credit to behind the scenes operatives. Even if the candidate is a puppet pulled along by his behind the scenes staff, you don't want it printed, especially before the contest in question has been held, more or the less, the whole campaign. Whether this was the right move, we will have to see.

If a new talent at a company leads to successful development of a new product which makes the company a lot of money, and the CEO becomes thought of better as a leader in his field, do you get rid of him merely because it is found out that he made the development and not the CEO of the company?

It's almost like Mitt Romney and his people have never actually run anything.

This is not a company, it is a campaign. The product is the candidate. And anything that is credited to behind the scenes, shady operatives, hurts the candidate. When it comes to a campaign the best situation is complete silence on the mechanics beyond just speculation. Because it can get the candidate off message and lead to various critiques.

This thread shows the whole Anti-Mormonism thing is actually benefiting Romney.  The Romney ego trip and vanity decisions of his staff are far more damaging than the distracting and uninteresting religious argument that usurped it.

Back to OP's point, this article confirms my suspicion that the Romney campaign's inner circle plays like an episode of Mad Men.  In fact, Jon Hamm will be perfect for the incoming HBO movie about the 2012 race.
