Need more polls like this to end the claim that Romney would be destined to lose in a one-on-one race.

Wow, Perry down to Huntsman levels in SC? Hilarious.

These recent polls are the first time Mittens has ever won head to head two man matchups in a primary. Usually, he has always done horribly in them.

Ok, so Newt just has to bounce after what will be a disastrous finish in New Hampshire...

His head looks like an iceberg, when viewing from space. You really think he'd bow out so quickly, especially since he's not completely out of it in SC (yet)?

If Newt actually won, that'd be hilarious. I won't be getting my hopes up though.

One-on-one:

Romney 45%
Santorum 40%

Romney 49%
Gingrich 35%

I assume that if you asked these questions as three-way Romney-Gingrich/Santorum-Paul questions, Romney would be in much worse shape. I have a hard time seeing much if any of Paul's 9% going to Santorum or Gingrich over Romney.

Reminds me of Harry Potter, in which Gingrich is Harry Potter and Santorum is Voldemort:

"None can live while the other survives."

Wink

But who is Romney in this scenario ?

This one is almost certainly over, folks. What will happen to help Romney's challengers between now and then if he gets 45% in New Hampshire?

At least South Carolina probably won't be called as soon as the polls close. That's really no fun at all.

There's also the question of who Obama is.  I'd be tempted to say Romney is Cornelius Fudge.

No, no. Romney is a boggart. Except instead of changing into whatever the person fears the most, he changes into whatever the person desires most.

Any chance that Perry would be persuaded to not wait for South Carolina to drop out? 5% is pretty pathetic. Funny how Protestants only have 14%, and 9% of that is Ron Paul.

Hermione, they would say. Ends up with the mildly doltish redhead (Romney's VP).

Huntsman is Neville, the unsung, underrated almost-hero.
