Well, we've had elected Senators who left office due to a lack of time (homelycooking, for example), so I don't think that's it. We just need someone who'd be willing to commit to serving a full term. Tongue

You're comparing a completely unforeseeable resignation (homely) over a non-surprising resignation (Tender).  I'm not looking to make this a partisan issue, rather, re-stating my opposition to party appointments.  Obviously I hope the next appointment works out.
