This is a vote of the Northeast Regional Assembly (that includes all citizens of the Northeast). I have edited some things out and changed some things around, but I URGE ALL NORTHEASTERNERS TO VOTE ON THESE RULES. Thanks to ColinW, Southeastern Governor Ernest, and Atty. Gen. Peter Bell for helping me out. President Gustaf, can you please sticky this thread for me sir.[/b] This voting booth shall be open for a total of 5 days, and at the end of 5 days (4:00pm EST on Tuesday), I shall total the votes and declare this passed or vetoed. In the case of the veto I will edit the rules again.

Every voter will place either a Yea or a Nay to signify whether they accept or reject the requirements. If the said person votes yea then the must also signify that either proposition IA has their vote or proposition IB has their vote. If the person votes nay then they do not cast a vote for either IA or IB.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

§ IA. Calling Out the Guard
The Governor of the Northeastern region is the sole person that has the authority to call up and use the Northeastern National Guard. In the case of a vacany in the office of Governor of the Northeast, the Lieutenant Governor will take control of the guard, upon his oath of office (see Article III, Section III of the Northeast Constitution).

or

§ IB. Calling Out the Guard
The Governor of the Northeastern region or the Regional Assembly has the authority to call up and use the Northeastern National Guard. For the Assembly to call out the Northeastern National Guard their must be a two thirds majority in favor of calling out the guard in order for the order to be valid. In the case of a vacany in the office of Governor of the Northeast, the Lieutenant Governor will take control of the guard, upon his oath of office (see Article III, Section III of the Northeast Constitution).

§ II. Death to soliders
The family of any solider who dies while on active duty in the Northeastern National Guard shall receive a compensation from the Government of the Northeast of $20,000 dollars each year over 5 years, to total to $100,000 dollars.

§ III. The Commander of the Guard
The Northeastern National Guard shall be commanded by a person with the position and title of the Adjutant General. The Adjutant General shall report directly to the Commander-in-Chief (Governor of the Northeast). The Adjutant General is appointed by the Governor of the Northeast, and shall remain in his/her post until asked to resign by the Commander-in-Chief. The Adjutant General must be the rank or Major General or higher, and already a member of the Northeastern National Guard.

§ IV. Splitting of the Guard
The guard should be split into two seperate sections. The Northeastern Army National Guard, and the Northeastern Air National Guard. The Adjutant General shall command both of these sections, and can be from either the Army National Guard, or the Air National Guard. The Atlasian Coast Guard will control the waters of the Northeast region, along with help from the individual State Polices.

§ V. Tours of Duty
Any person who enlists in the Northeastern National Guard, shall serve one tour of duty, consisting of two years, with the option to re-enlist for more tours of duty.

Nay/1B

Nay because it doesn't specify how this is to be payed for.

Senator Bono's vote for Section 1B is void because he voted nay for the overall regulations.

Actually, it is proper to refer to all ex-holders of office by their previous title.  So you would still call Mr. Clinton "President Clinton" even though he no longer holds the office.

Thank you Mr. Chief Justice. It is customary to refer to a ex-President as Mr. President still. Its common curosity, something that you obviously lack. (oh snap, just kidding) Anyone this is a voting thread,  lets stop making unvoting posts.

The voting is now over. Thanks to all the great citizens of the Northeast who took part in this vote. Special thanks once again to my good friend ColinW of PA, Gov. Ernest, and Peter Bell. The tally is as follows:

13 votes in the affirmative
2 votes in the negative

6 votes for Section 1A
7 votes for Section 1B.

I declare these regulations approved by the Northeast Legislature. We now take the course for passed bills, and send it to desk of the Governor of the Northeast for this signature. Thank you all.
