and here is the axe just waiting to end Romney's political career:

Iowa:

28% Gingrich
13% Paul
12% Romney
10% Bachmann
10% Cain
  7% Perry

South Carolina:

38% Gingrich
15% Romney
13% Cain
  7% Paul
 4% Perry
  3% Bachmann

there is 27% & 20% of Cain/Perry/Bachmann support in IA and SC, respectively.  The majority of which will end up in Newt's corner (barring a Newt implosion).  There simply is no oxygen left for Romney.

PPP's first night of Florida polling also has Gingrich up big.

Not buying it. Republicans aren't stupid enough to nominate Gingrich over Romney.

it's not a matter of smart/stupid. But a matter of Newt staying afloat long enough. Remember Newt's been in office or the public eye since the 70s. They'll find some flaw to split the field enough to let Romney slide through.

Cain is still winning the black vote in Iowa, but the black vote in the Iowa caucus poll is only 10 out of over 500 people polled.  And Perry has a majority of the 5 Hispanics who were polled.

Huntsman wasn't polled? Unless he placed 8th (!!) in the poll behind Santorum, presumably in the low-mid single digits. If so, based on his regularly placing around the 10% mark in other polls, I suspect this is somewhat of an outlier.

Huntsman wasn't polled?

Besides their failure to include him in their polls, Newsmax is also too stupid to publish the full results of the poll ...
