Why the UK specifically?  Because it was there?  Iran is in a world of hurt right now... And religious fundamentalism will only make matters worse.

The only thing Iran has going for it is their two child policy which saw fertility rates plummet from 6 children per woman to just over 2.  The result has been a big drop in births.  The largest generation is now in their 20s, hence the unrest.  I think it will get better as the society ages as a whole.

Because Great Satan does not have an embassy in Iran, so Little Satan must do.

Also, in light of the IAEA report, Britain was first to enact sanctions on Iran.

Well, they were chanting "Death to England"... so you should be just fine.  Though travel to Scotland might become a bit hairy.

Several hundred years of UK meddling in Persian affairs?  The British have been screwing with Iran far longer than the US has.

Is there any country of any global importance that hasn't been "meddling in Persian affairs" at some point or another?....Brazil maybe?

For me this has a certain sad irony - one of the roleplays I run had the British Embassy being ransacked by Iranian rioters.

The UK has withdrawn all of its diplomats from Iran and expelled the Iranian contingent here. Justified really.
