Strongly disapprove of Hank Johnson, but at least he's better than Cynthia McKinney.

i don't know much about janice hahn. Since she belongs to the same party as me, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and approve.

Slight disapproval of Norm Dicks.  While I  like him keeping jobs in the region; I disagree with him on social issues.  My family has also met him in person and do not like him personally.

Slightly approve of Rob Woodall because he's what passes for a sensible Republican these days, and is infinitely better than any other person who'd otherwise be holding the district.

Now, post redistricting, I'll have Paul Broun, who's a very horrible person.

Disapprove.  She represents a true swing district, but Rep. Herrera-Beutler has been a rubber stamp for the House GOP.

Same!

Also since I live in Olympia and go to school in Spokane I am effectively represented by McMorris Rodgers and Herrera-Beutler, the two of which are basically indistinguishable. Very boring, GOP grunts. But come next year I will hopefully be represented by the mysterious 10th district (or I better be)!

Bill Clay
Dan Lipinski
Alcee Hastings

For making-sense purposes, we should start a new thread for this.

Home - Kenny Marchant's totally lame, but it looks like I'm soon to be represented by Barton, so it's pretty much impossible not to look like an absolute FF in comparison.

College - Disapprove of Tom Cole, but I realize it could be far worse. This is Oklahoma, after all. Tongue

My family are good friends with my congressman and his family (Ander Crenshaw). He's a pretty interesting guy. I once went out to eat with him in D.C and they just started bringing us food we hadn't ordered and it was never mentioned on the bill. Good times.

My college rep, Steve Southerland, is an HP.

I am reasonably happy with my Congressman, John  Campbell. I am now getting probably Dana Rohrbacher (sp), a washed up now fat blow hard boring all too often demagogue (sad decline from when I knew him in high school), and as to him, I would not approve. I would be open to voting for an acceptable Dem, but alas none of those are put up to tempt me. The Dems specialize in putting up empty tort lawyers, and as to them, I would almost never vote for that particular species.

did you know that Rohrabacher used to have a beard earlier in his congressional career?

Yes, and he did at the libertarian convention when he was stoned out of his mind, but not when I was in high school.

My Congressman is Tom Cole (R) of OK-4.  I slightly approve of him.  It's pretty close to a wash, but I give him the benefit of the doubt.  If my congressman were his counterpart James Lankford of OK-5, I would strongly approve.  I like what Lankford has done since he's been in office.

Approve of both.

I moderately approve of Allyson Schwartz.  I originally thought she'd be to the left of me and unelectable, but in fact she's to the right of me and trying to play too nice to the right since in office.  She was one of the most lwft wing State Senators before 2005.  Should have never voted for the Bankruptcy bill.

Don't agree with many of her positions and I always vote for her challenger, but Jo Ann Emerson is a moderate, I guess, nowadays anyways by the current GOP standards, and she's not as nutty as most of the new brand of Republicans, so I approve.

Henry Waxman (D)

I disapprove of him as a politician, but he's a nice guy in person (I've met him on several occasions)
