Netflix drops unpopular Qwikster DVD plan

Netflix Inc Chief Executive Reed Hastings reversed an unpopular decision to separate his company's DVD rental business and online video streaming service, sending the stock up 7 percent in early trading.

I wonder what they will try and do next week.  I think it's time a real company like Google present some serious competition.

I don't think Netflix is going to ever figure out how to make a profit again (go full on instant, with a library of "in-season" streams available on the $4.99 monthly subscription with no additional charge and then charge $.99/watch to access a stream of an "out-of-season" movie).

There's still a market out there for hard copy DVD rentals. For now at least.

The hierarchy of Netflix is just insane. They've almost run the company into the ground like 5 times in the past month. I thought maybe we could see a reemergence of blockbuster before this was all said and done. The future is definitely in on demand streaming via mobile devices and things like x boxes.

I was really expecting an Onion article based off of the title.
