At the suggestion of several members of the party, I am considering joining the States Rights Party.  Before I make a final decision, I would like to know a little about the party’s history and its chairman in order to ask some questions about the party's stances

I am the untitled founder and chairman of the StatesRights Party. We had a thread that had our platform in it but is buried and I don't know where its at. If you have any questions you can PM me or ask them here and I will be glad to answer.

And, btw, does the StatesRights Party have a website?

We have no website as I am unskilled in Website making abilities. Smiley

The basic concept of our Education stance is to the right of the real President but to the left of the Libertarians.  We believe that public education IS constitutional (contrary to what libertarians believe) but we believe that it should be run by the states and not by a central organization such as the Department of Education. We believe in school vouchers and other initiatives for school choice. We are strongly against forced bussing of any sort.

Abortion : We are strongly against abortions in any trimester but we realize that they should be legal to prevent back alley abortions. We therefore believe that legalization and regulation belong to the STATE and the federal government shall have no interest or say in the matter. We are for the overturning of Roe vs Wade.

Thanks for the prompt replies!  I'm sorry I haven't posted on this thread in awhile.  It's been crazy around here the last week or two with the hollidays.

Well, anyway, what is the party's stance on Gun rights?

We believe that public education IS constitutional (contrary to what libertarians believe)

Can you clarify?

I'll simply describe to you all the major parties and some of the minor ones here:

Republican Party: Similar to the real-world Republicans. Center-right to right on economic issues, centrist to mildly authoritarian on social issues. Foreign policy ranges from interventionist to isolationist. Leader is President PBRunsel.  Other important Republicans include Vice President Keystone Phil, Senator Bono, and Secretary of Forum Affairs StevenNick.

Democrat Party: Similar to real-world Democrats. Center-left to left on economic issues, centrist to mildly libertarian on social issues. Foreign policy ranges from isolationist to multilateralist. Major
Democrats include former President Nym90, Senator Defarge, Akno21, and Senator-elect Gabu.

Constitutional Union Party: Center-right on economic issues, mildly libertarian on social issues, somewhat interventionist foreign policy. The most important CU party members are former Governor Htmldon and Governor MAS117.

Freedom Party: Center-left on economic issues, mildly authoritarian on social issues, somewhat interventionist foreign policy. Major members include Senators-Elect SuperSoulty and WMS.

United Left (actually, a union of similar small parties including the Progressive Party and the Insurgent Country Music Party, among others): left to far-left on economic issues, centrist to libertarian on social issues, multilateralist foreign policy. Major members include Senator Siege40, Governor NickG, and Lt. Gov. Lewis Trondheim.

Farmer-Labor Party: Don't know too much about, but I think they are left on economic issues and center on social issues, dunno about foreign policy. Major members include Senator-elect Al and Gov. Ilikeverin.

Libertarian Party: center-right to far-right on economic issues, libertarian to extreme-libertarian on social issues, isolationist foreign policy. Major members include Badnarikin04 and Dabeav.

States Rights Party (AKA Southern Republican Party): right on economic issues, mildly authoritarian on social issues. Foreign Policy mirrors the Republicans.  Major member is Senator StatesRights.

Atlasian Liberty & Justice Party: right to far-right on economic issues, mildly libertarian on social issues. mildly interventionist foreign policy. Only member so far is me, DanielX.

Independents: A lot of them are in Atlasian Politics: Senator John F. Kennedy, Governors Wildcard and Ernest, and Senate Candidate Peter Bell are all independents. Political views vary.

Deceased, dying, dormant, and largely inactive parties:

UAC (United Atlasian Centrists): essentially centrist on both fronts, mildly interventionist foreign policy. Once the top political party in Atlasia. Most members are now either Independents (example: Gov. Wildcard), or members of the Constitutional Union or  Freedom Party). Examples of prominent ex-UACers include Senator John F. Kennedy and htmldon.

Independence Party: more-or-less center-left, methinks. Only ex-member i can think of is hughento.

Jesus Christ Party: Only member is a guy named Jesus.

Coca-Cola Party: the party of Boss Tweed, currently inactive in Atlasian Politics.

Radical Feminist (Socialist/Biatch/insert adjective here) Party: The former party of outgoing Sen. TexasGurl. Far-left economic, far-left social. In disgrace after forgetting to attend a debate, she withdrew her candidacy for re-election (Al is getting her seat), and joined the rightist States Rights party (I think she lost a bet somewhere along the line).

Other stuff:

King, a former Supreme Court justice, forms a new party almost every day. And he's the only member, usually.

All current Supreme Court justices are independents.

I did not mention John Ford, Gustaf, or other important members. You'll just have to meet them yourself!

I did not mention John Ford, Gustaf, or other important members. You'll just have to meet them yourself!

They're both major Freedom Party members; you could list them there.

Also, a minor correction is that PBrunsel is not the leader of the Republican Party; he's just the highest office holder from that party.  Bono is the AFRNC chairman.

These are minor things though; that was a great list. Smiley  Maybe that should be put somewhere; I think it'd be very useful for reference material...

It'll be out of date in no time at all though. Thanks for mentioning the ICMP, made me feel so proud. Smiley

Well, yes, but it could be updated as needed.

Or we could just drop the idea. Tongue
