1. Would the salary of a teams quarterback be more then that of the punter?

2. Would starters get paid more then 2nd and 3rd string players.

3. ESPN will sometimes air High school football games. Should those players be paid?

4. Would each school have to stay between a Salary floor and cap?

5. Would players get paid per game or have a yearly salary?

I work with a guy who is always yelling about how we should pay these players, but he has little response to these issues.

I haven't given it that much thought.  However, My general opinion is that there should be a general fund within each division (NCAA I) for each sport.  Every player on the roster and every team should receive an equal stipend.

So,

1. Yes  2. No  3. No 4. No, each school should have equal stipend 5. yearly, based on roster

Don't pay them but don't ban them from receiving compensation from boosters or others.

Was just thinking about this. Schools should only be allowed to pay tennis and lacrosse players IMO.

Hmm...considering many if not most schools are state/public schools...could we have a problem turning players into public employees? Can we avoid that?  Or worth the risk?

Don't college athletes already get paid tens of thousands of dollars a year in scholarships?

A decent number...particularly in football and basketball.

It turns out to be less than minimum wage when you add up the number of hours they put into it (and remember, they aren't allowed to have jobs on the side), which is pretty immoral when you consider the millions they generate for their athletic departments.

And to answer the above questions, it would have to be a set salary, that all players at all FBS schools receive minimum wage for practice time and some sort of standard stipend for game.

You can't let the bigger schools pay more, or the gap will only widen.
