With Russell Crowe as Javert and Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean?  I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a coming movie.

Use this thread to discuss how awesome a development this is.

Yea and it's directed by Tom Hooper, who did the John Adams mini-series for HBO and THE KING'S SPEECH.

Hopefully they do perhaps the greatest stage show of all time justice.

I actually see Crowe more as Valjean than Jackman, who in my opinion should have been the Phantom in the adaption of that musical.

Les Miserables is one of very few musicals that I actually enjoy.

I'm actually excited for the movie.

that's neat, but I have to admit, I'm a bit tired of Hugh Jackman at this point.

Wasn't there a movie already?  With Liam Neeson and Geoffrey Rush?  It wasn't that long ago.

There has never been an adaption of the musical.

Seen it, but that's an adaptation of the Victor Hugo novel, not of the musical.
