Star Wars: Jedi in Politics

Which would the Jedi (Light Side of the Force) support? In terms of social issues, economic issues and foreign policy. Feel free to explain your response.

Given that the latest storyline in the "Fate" arc has involved a Jedi military coup d'etat and a subtext about the need of the Jedi, as a clerical order, to divorce themselves completely from the political system (politics corrupting both them and they corrupting the government in turn), nothing I'd support.  (Info courtesy of some of my SA pals that keep up with the SWEU).

I honestly don't know because the light side is about peace and not executing, helping the poor, etc.

Then again, they have the jedi code which is basically the morality that dictates their life. I just don't know.

Jedi have, by our standards, strange views on sex. They are fine with it, but don't believe in attachments, so getting married isn't allowed, iirc.
