It's an over-simplification largely, but I actually do agree with the underlying message.....for the most part.

Some examples were ridiculous...

But I am very opposed to zero-tolerance and the over-sensitivity we have to things nowadays.

The local school district here will expel any student who brings a gun to school (if it is on school property at any time).

If you are found to be in possession of ammunition, however, the first offense is 1-day suspension.  You cannot be expelled until your 4th offense.

That policy is in place because northern MN being a huge hunting area, too many kids are caught with ammo in their cars/trucks because while they took the gun out before school, they forgot about the ammo.
