I think Paul or Huntsman could win Maine.

By your standards, Paul would win DC. Huntsman, maybe.

In a landslide, Reagan in 1980 or 1984, could loose Maine.  He wouldn't loose DC.

Unless the Democratic candidate was 1963 George Wallace.

In any case, Ron Paul could win 95% of the vote in the General Election.

No, no, no. Huntsman and Romney are not all that, let's stop pretending they are.

No. Romney, Huntsman and Pawlenty could each win if they are winning nationally by at least 52-47. ME-2 would cast its vote for them in any such case. Any other candidate is going to have to hope for over 12% unemployment to even have a shot in ME.

Maine could go GOP much more easily if the candidate is moderate on social issues.

I don't see Maine as D+5 in aggregate as much as D+10 on social positions and a push on economics.  Tame the red meat conservatism and you have a horserace.
