George Allen doesn't make the infamous "macaca" gaffe in 2006, is reelected to the Senate, and runs for president in 2008.  He quickly becomes the "establishment favorite" and, after coming in third in Iowa, finishes first in the New Hampshire primary.  He goes on to win South Carolina and Florida and follows it up with lagre, Super Tuesday victories.  He is nominated on the first ballot at the convention in St. Paul and selects Florida governor Charlie Crist as his running mate.

Hillary Clinton is able to win the Democratic nomination by winning enough super-delegates to cause a "locked" convention.  In the seventh round of voting she is selected as the nominee under the condition that Obama be given the VP slot.  She accepts.

The economy and the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan are the same in RL.

So, who wins?  Discuss w/ maps.  It will be interesting to see how a Democratic "power-ticket" would do against the strongest GOP ticket I could think of.

Switch Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, and maybe Florida for Arkansas, West Virginia, Missouri, and maybe Louisiana.
