Redundancy there.  Men desire sex, and think about it all the time - it isn't a 'perversion', its their norm.

Quite so.  If you think we need a "do men only think about sex" discussion, start a thread about it.  Leave the goldmine for funny stuff.

If you would reopen the Romantic Comedy Goldmine (also known by it's alternate title of Update), this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

I say that we ban all posters from Indiana immediately and ban all future registrations from that benighted state.

In a thread about Cindy Crawford backing Mitt Romney:

Somehow, the number of posts supporting 75 year-old Ron Paul would plummet.

Hey, you need the youth vote to win. Wink

She isn't exactly "youth" anymore.

There is a pornographic actress who uses that name, so there could be some confusion.

I was referring to the fact that it seems like all Ron Paul fans are under 21, just finished reading The Fountainhead and wondering who the hell that old lady with the mole is.  Relieved to know about your encyclopedic knowledge of porn actresses though.

Have there been any comments along the lines of "It's probably no coincidence Indiana is also home to Dude Fest?"

Opebo, if you have to cut stuff out of the post to make it seem funnier, it's probably not deserving of the comedy goldmine...

Bull!  Sometimes there are page long posts of political drivel with a gem of insult or wit just a sentence or two long in the midst (though admittedly more often at the beginning or end). It is très ordinaire to trim out the dreck.

With a bit more blood and gore it could very well be the trailer for the next Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Hills Have Eyes sequel.

You missed what I said.  I said if you have to cut stuff out to make it SEEM funnier than it actual is, then it probably doesn't belong.  It was pretty clear cutie was talking about body image... you cut it out to make it sound like something else.

Inks cutting stuff out of context to make it look funny is a VERY common practice. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tIvMUy8UDs

Most of the stuff that's funny in that trailer isn't funny at all in the actual movie.

I'm aware that it's common practice in movie trailers.  But that's not the purpose of the Comedy Goldmine.  And I criticize Hollywood for doing it in trailers too.

Although there wasn't really anything funny in the trailer.

I hope you don't mind.  Since funny posts are like movies, I made some creative CGI post-production edits to the previous post.  I call it "Comedy Goldmine: Special Edition."

Well it was an attempt to make the movie look like a comedy, which it is very far from.
