As many of you may know at this point, I have made the decision to seek to represent the Northeast region in the Atlasian Senate. As the current Speaker of the Northeast Assembly, I am well aware of the needs of the region. This region has undergone overwhelming change over the course of the few months I have been here and I am proud of what we have accomplished so far.
This campaign will not be easy but I am committed to victory in this race. The representative we choose to send to the Atlasian Senate is equally important as fixing our own regional government if we are to improve how outsiders view the Northeast. We have the potential to be great—in fact we are almost there.

Why Speaker Napoleon? For those who haven’t been convinced by my leadership in the attempt to recall inactive Governor Ghostwhite and clean up the legislative and constitutional questions that have haunted this region, I will offer qualities that others in the race will not be able to—qualities that I feel are important in restoring both our region and our nation.

  • The Atlasian Senate would do good to have some new, fresh voices in it. We’ve seen some of the best work currently ongoing from more recent Senators such as Senator Antonio V and Senator shua, two people I would love to call colleagues.
  • I have been active in regional affairs. Our current Senator has not shown much interest in the regional government as Senator and no one else in this race has been very active in regional affairs. It is absolutely paramount for our federal representation to be involved and active in our regional government as well and I pledge to do this.
  • I’ve never been held to partisanship or personality clashes. One of my best qualities is my ability to get along with and work alongside people no matter what their views, credentials, or affiliations. I have worked closely with people of all parties in the Assembly and in the recall effort. This will translate into a more successful Senate term, as there will be nine other Senators that I would be able to work with to better the nation and region.

There is, of course, more but I would rather not to be too long-winded at the outset. I will reveal specific policy proposals as this campaign goes on, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. As Speaker, I have other commitments and hopefully the reforms that are still yet to come will serve as another example of my hard work on behalf of this region.

I am open to debating any and all opponents of the course of this campaign. All I ask for is cordiality and respect, with a focus on the issues both regional and federal so long as they pertain to the job of being Senator.

I look forward to a debate! Whichever one of us wins, it will be a great step forward for our region regardless. Best of luck my friend.

So do I. I am a close colleague of Napoleon's, and can attest that he has been an effective leader of the Assembly, so I am very much inclined to support him. Marokai, however, has the advantage of being a former senator, and he has a number of excellent proposals to offer. If the election were held today, I would vote Napoleon, but, as always, I will change my mind if logically persuaded to.

I must say that this could be a tough decision for me! Good luck to you Napoleon, may the best man win.

(Sorry Napoleon, that's about as close to an endorsement as I'm able to go.)

Napoleon has made it abundantly clear in the past that he is not a leftist candidate for office, but that he is the reform candidate for office.  That is why I am endorsing him for the Senate.

I've spoken with my opponents and we are looking for a debate moderator, preferably to begin this upcoming Thursday.

Remember, Northeasterners, you're input is wanted in the constitutional convention!

Have a great night Grin

On behalf of the Northeast region, I would have to oppose any proposal which allows people to register as citizens earlier than they would be eligible to fully participate. As of now, the size of the Northeast Assembly is universally recognized as too large in size. The number of seats is based on the number of citizens. If some of the examples provided by Junkie were counted as citizens, that could result in a larger Northeast with no more active players than before. It is easier to live with the present system than to risk putting an undue burden on the citizens of the Northeast. I wish we could have our Constitution changed regarding this, but it's far from guaranteed that is currently possible.

On the Vice Presidency

The New Jersey Plan

We all understand the problems with the Vice Presidency-- no power, no real duties, and really just taking up space. Many solutions have been proposed recently: some good ones and some bad ones. What I offer is "The New Jersey Plan". Fundamentally, the Vice Presidency remains elected on a ticket with the president. The Vice President will continue to break ties in the Senate. BUT, similar to the position of Lieutenant Governor in New Jersey, the Vice President would also be allowed to hold a Cabinet position of the President's choice. Doing this ensures we have an active Vice President with real power in the administration he or she serves in.

On the Cabinet

The Napoleon Plan

One of my causes in the Northeast has been crusading against positions that serve as placeholders...that don't really do anything. Our Lieutenant Governor is an example of such a position, as is the aforementioned Vice Presidency. The bloated government doesn't stop at elective office. Registrar General is a cool name, sure. It's also a useful position. But what about the Secretary of Federal Elections? I don't think administrating elections every couple months warrants a cabinet position all on its own. The power to administer elections could be transferred to the RG (though I think SoFE would still be a more appropriate name), or even Attorney General. Trimming the fat in our government will make the offices we have more desirable and lead to more competitive elections, which is something we are striving to do in the Northeast.

On the Game Moderator

The Best Option Plan

I also propose to repeal the current administration's Game Moderator Reform Act. This act complicates the process and seeks to solve GM activity problems with a web of interlinking "GMs" within the Cabinet, even allowing them to create stories that they have executive powers to act on. The conflict of interest is especially evident for the SoEA position. I cannot stress enough how backwards we made the process. Allowing stories to be posted be lower-level "almost Game Moderators" and then allowing those stories to be modified by the REAL GM is unsound. I strongly believe anyone working as a GM should be as far removed from the Government as possible, i.e. no Cabinet members creating stories.

Hartford, Connecticut

On the campaign trail with Polnut

Greetings my good friends in the Northeast region! I cannot thank the Speaker enough for his support. He truly understands what this region needs to work again. Polnut was a warrior of reform in the Northeast at a time when reform wasn't welcome. He is, like me, someone who values their principles and does not sacrifice them for the sake of winning elections. Polnut has an uncanny ability to find solutions and forge compromise when dealing with the toughest problems of the day, as he demonstrated as Speaker of the Northeast Assembly. These qualities will make him an excellent President that I hope to work with if you elect me to represent you in the Senate.

The Polnut/Bacon King ticket stands for the progress we need. I believe I am the best candidate in this race to help them in the Senate throughout their term. I support Polnut's plan to make the SoIA a more meaningful position by extending powers over domestic policy. I stand with Senator Snowguy against applying GM powers to Cabinet officials. I am confident that a Polnut administration will bring us a working cabinet that reacts to news rather than creating it.

Thank you for your time! Vote for Polnut/Bacon King and Napoleon for Senate: Proven Leadership, Real Results
