I only read his "Anti-intellectualism in American Life" which I found hard to digest, mostly because I didn't accept the premise of the 'story' he weas sketching.

However any 'intellectual history' (history of ideas, not the history of intelelctualism) is a difficult undertaking so I give him mad props for that.
